The Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool is a standalone virus scanner and detection software which can be installed on (and runs from) any drive, including portable ones. The product will scan the specified locations for any virus threats and remove them or send to Quarantine folder.
Notes:
This product is a free download by Kaspersky Lab. The installer provided with the original software is however hugely inconvenient, as it creates a registry entry on the target computer (a service that automatically runs at startup). Unless you uninstall the product, the registry entry will remain active and the removal tool will launch every time the computer boots. Not quite handy, and most users will uninstall the product after the scan has completed.
This version of the product is fully portable. Running it will not create any registry entry on the target computer. Once the scanning process has ended and you close the window, it will ask if you want to remove it from the computer. Just answer no and unplug your device.
The application includes all of the original files by Kaspersky (UNTOUCHED !!!). Only the installer was removed.
